# 2, Trash to Treasure
Yup. We’ve all been home. Let’s cut the the chase.
No need to talk more about this global health armageddon, let’s cut to the fun stuff:
✨ TRASH ART ✨
If you’re in the headspace to beautify where you spend most of your time, consider repurposing materials, like fabrics, before heading to online shop for any wall decor.
(Though, you could check out the lovely handmade painted woodblock and embroidery collection we have for sale on the site.) You know. Shop small, shop local.
Why?
The average person contributes about 70 pounds of textile waste to landfill yearly.
How you can make a repurposed textile art piece:
Any forgotten textiles you love, but don’t serve a real purpose anymore. Maybe a shirt with a hole in it, a dress that no longer fits, something with a broken zipper, a cursed forever-stain, you get the gist.
A pair of scissors.
Any adhesive substance. If hot glue feels too permanent, use a washable glue. Safety pins. Thumb tac. The list goes on.
Do you have any framed prints that you just don’t like anymore? Good. Pop the print out, flip it around, and there’s your white background.
The rest is simple. Frame something you used to love that no longer serves you and let it transform. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to mean something to you. That’s how you create sustainably, with love.
